Title:   Paint the Town Blue
Artist:  Dominika Cosik
Materials:   ornaments of varying materials

Festival-goers are invited to create an ornament in the form and style of their choice, but always blue. The color blue will be used as a symbolic commemoration to blues music and its historical context and will be an opportunity for festival goers to interact. Festival goers will also be provided with a small pre-cut material onto which they will either write a favorite inspirational quote or leave a piece of their own heartening advice. These notations will be attached to the ornaments with blue ribbons as a metaphorical offering of encouragement. Once an ornament has been completed with memo attached, festival goers will hang it in a location of their choice for someone to find, trading it with other festival goers, or simply keeping it as a memento. While also including anyone who has ever suffered a “case of the blues”, this event serves as a collaborative tribute to the field workers, who suffered pain and hopelessness.
